Google suspends or disables Business Profiles that it believes break its guidelines. You can appeal, but Google's help page says an appeal can only be submitted once, so the order matters: understand the reason, fix the profile, collect evidence, then appeal.
Step by step
- Read the notice. Sign in to the Google Account that manages the profile and open the notification or email. Google's appeals tool shows the decision date, the reason, a link to the policy, and whether it can be appealed.
- Check whether your whole account is restricted. If your account is restricted, every profile it manages is suspended and you can't create or claim others. Google says to appeal the account restriction first (on your My accounts page), then appeal the profile.
- Compare your profile with Google's guidelines line by line. Common problems are: extra keywords or a city in the business name; a virtual office, mailbox or unstaffed co-working desk used as the address; a service-area business showing a home address; more than one profile for the same location; a business type that isn't eligible.
- Fix what's wrong first. Make the name match your real-world signage, hide the address if customers don't visit you, remove duplicate profiles. Appealing an unchanged profile wastes your one appeal.
- Gather evidence whose name and address match the profile exactly. Google lists: official business registration, a business licence, tax certificates, and utility bills (electricity, phone, water, internet).
- Submit the appeal in Google's appeals tool (linked from Google's help page below): select the profile and the decision, attach files, explain briefly and factually why the profile follows the guidelines, tick the confirmation box and submit. Google emails you the decision.
- If it's denied, Google says it may do an additional review if you can add evidence you didn't include the first time.
What not to do
- Don't create a new Business Profile for the same business (Google's help page says this explicitly).
- Don't submit the appeal in a hurry without evidence: appeals can only be submitted once.
- Don't send documents whose business name or address differs from the profile.
- Don't pay anyone who promises guaranteed reinstatement or says they have a contact inside Google.

Common questions
How long does a Google Business Profile appeal take?
Google doesn't publish a fixed time. It reviews the appeal and emails you the decision; you can check the status (Submitted, Approved, Not approved, Can't be appealed, Eligible for appeal) in the appeals tool.
Will my reviews come back after reinstatement?
Google says reinstating a profile reinstates the profile and its owners and managers. Its reviews help page also notes that reviews are sometimes missing after reinstatement and suggests contacting support if that happens.
Can I just make a new profile?
No. Google's help page tells you not to create a new profile for the same business; duplicates are against its guidelines and won't show.
Honest note: This page summarises Google's own public help articles (linked above) plus common-sense checks. We are not Google and can't see inside your account, so we can't promise any outcome: Google alone decides suspensions, appeals, verification and rankings. Google changes its tools and wording often, so if anything here differs from what you see, follow Google's current help page.
