If the Get verified button reappears, or you see a Review issues notice after a video, Google couldn't verify your business with what it received. You can usually try again, but repeating the same attempt rarely changes the result. Fix the cause first.
Step by step
- Check which methods you're offered. Google decides the available methods (video recording, live video call, phone/SMS, email, postcard) based on business type, public info, region and hours; you can't pick one that isn't offered. Google recommends video where available.
- If a video was rejected, re-plan it before re-recording. Google's requirements: recorded live through your Business Profile on a phone (no pre-recorded upload), unedited, one continuous take, at least 30 seconds. Show where you are (street sign, nearby businesses, outside of the building), that it's your business (permanent signage, branded equipment, products, tools or vehicles), and that you manage it (unlocking the door, the till/POS, kitchen, storeroom or non-sensitive business paperwork).
- Service-area businesses (no shopfront): Google asks you to record street signs, nearby landmarks or other identifiers where your business is based (avoid empty land with no markers), plus your work equipment and proof you manage the business. Make sure your profile has no customer-facing address if customers don't visit you.
- Make the profile match reality before retrying. Business name exactly as on signage, correct address or service area, a phone that reaches your business. If the video shows a different name or place from the profile, it can't confirm the profile.
- Select 'Review issues' (after a video) or 'Get verified' again and follow the on-screen steps. If more than one method is offered, try another one.
- Still stuck? Google's help page suggests contacting support if you can't verify with the options available, and the Business Profile community forum for help.
What not to do
- Don't edit your business name, address or category while a postcard code is on its way: Google says the code will stop working.
- Don't create a second profile to 'start fresh'. Duplicates are against Google's guidelines.
- Don't use a virtual office, mailbox or a co-working desk without permanent signage and staff as your address. Google says these aren't eligible.
- Don't share your verification code with anyone, including people who manage your profile. Google says it will never ask for it.

Common questions
How long does video verification take?
Google says the review can take up to 5 business days, and on rare occasions longer.
Can I choose postcard instead of video?
Not if it isn't offered. Google says verification methods are determined automatically and can't be changed.
Why does it keep asking me to verify again?
Google says re-verification is often requested after business details were recently updated, for example the name, address or category.
